Wave Country is one of the best outdoor water activities to do in August. Wave Country’s operational season is from May through September. Their hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wave Country’s admission fees are very reasonable, so if you’re on a budget, this is the place to visit for inexpensive fun.
Songwriters Under the Stars at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens
Cheekwood Estate & Gardens is having two evenings of songs and symphony in August. Famous songwriters will perform their chart-topping hits written for today’s biggest stars. The first event is on Friday, August 25, 2017, featuring Jessi Alexander, Marcus Hummon and Kyle Jacobs. The second event is on Saturday, August 26, 2017, featuring Hillary Lindsey, Chris DeStefano and Rivers Rutherford. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Food and drinks will be available from Edley’s Bar-B-Que.
Treetop Adventure Park at Nashville Shores
Treetop Adventure Park at Nashville Shores is an adventure course set in the beautiful woods of Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort. The course offers over 100 exciting and challenging obstacles including suspended bridges, cargo nets, giant zip lines, Tarzan swings and many other thrilling obstacles. Treetop Adventure Park at Nashville Shores operational season is from March through November. Their hours of operation is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the days they’re open.
Thursday Night Out at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens
Thursday Night Out at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens runs from June 22, 2017 through September 7, 2017. August is the perfect time to visit because it won’t be too hot or too cold. The temperatures will be just right. Thursday Night Out at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens offers live jazz music, 1930s lawn games, cash bars with signature cocktails by Pour Taste, dancing with Metro Parks Dance and fashion pop ups from Nashville Fashion Alliance members. The event is held once a week, and it starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.
Summer Camp at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens
Summer Camp at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens runs from June 5, 2017 through August 4, 2017. Cheekwood Estate & Gardens claim that it’s Nashville’s favorite Summer Camp. Kids of all ages can explore gardens, create masterpieces and more every week.
Nashville Originals Restaurant Week
Nashville Originals Restaurant Week will be held from August 21, 2017 until August 27, 2017 throughout music city. A wide variety of restaurants came together to create Nashville Originals Restaurant Week. The event is held twice a year while the best locally-owned restaurants offer special deals, unique dishes and prix fixe menus that are only available during this week. Meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner at special prices.
Located in the Hutton Hotel is 1808 Grille that features award-winning American cuisine in a casual and elegant setting. They use local produce and seasonal ingredients to cook their food.
55 South offers eclectic Southern cuisine and New Orleans-style favorites. All of their meals are cooked with fresh ingredients for a delicious taste.
Blue Moon Waterfront Grill
Blue Moon Waterfront Grill is a laid-back establishment with an island-esque attitude. In 2010, the Blue Moon Waterfront Grill was washed down the Cumberland during heavy floods. Local restaurants and business partners came together to build an all-new waterfront experience.
