Memorial Day was originally established to remember those who lost their lives while serving in the military. And as the unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day has also turned into a weekend of food, friends, and fun in the sun. Memorial Day Dash 5K 2017
If you want to celebrate the start of summer by running (and who doesn’t?) then the Memorial Day Dash 5K is what you’re looking for. This run takes place on Monday, May 29, at the Science Center on Fort Negley Boulevard. The route winds its way around and through Fort Negley and the historic Nashville City Cemetery. Music City Jazz Fest
The Music City Jazz Fest celebrates jazz music and its unique spot as a distinctly American music tradition. This year’s festival includes David Sanborn, Chuck Loeb, Dee Lucas, Harvey Mason, and Tramaine Artemis. This three-day event gives you a chance to sit back, relax, and celebrate the weekend with food, friends, and some great live music.
